NEW Taylor Builders Edition models | Plus Taylor factory tour

Taylor guitars continues its tradition of innovation, with the addition of four new builders edition models to their line-up. These new models bring depth and range to Taylor’s growing family of guitars designed by the master for the ultimate musical experience. We give you a brief run down on the new models and some of the special features of the master-built guitars.

Taylor 816Ce Builders Edition

The newly designed builders edition Grand Symphony model features lovingly crafted contours, an expansive acoustic tone, and player-focused enhancements. Featuring Indian rosewood back and a Lutz spruce top, it offers the low-end warmth and sparkle you’d expect from a rosewood/spruce combination with additional bloom and resonance added by V-Class bracing. But the 816CE Builder’s Edition model truly shines in the details, starting with its most significant innovation: the soundport cutaway.

Crafted to resemble a partial Florentine cutaway, the design keeps the guitar’s full back intact while still allowing easy access to the high-register frets. The additional soundhole adds a truly new dimension of acoustic sound, creating a wide-angle sound that would fit as well in a classical orchestra as it would a rock band or a fingerstyle solo act.

Taylor 652CE WHB

Built with figured Big Leaf maple for the back and sides with a torrefied Sitka spruce top.  V-Class bracing delivers a unique boost in the 12-string configuration, adding texture and tonal bloom plus the guitar takes on additional punch resulting from the reversed string orientation. This adds warmth and body, and a new double-mounted string anchoring system provides cleaner intonation with each string crossing the saddle at the same point.

Taylor 324Ce Builders Edition

Featuring a never-before-used tonewood called Urban Ash™ and a host of player-focused design enhancements, the Builder’s Edition 324ce represents Taylor’s ongoing marriage of innovative acoustic design with forward-thinking strategy toward a more sustainable future. Urban Ash™ is sourced from salvaged city trees that have been selected for removal from urban settings; offering a tonal response similar to high-tier mahogany: dry and woody, with a fundamental-strong response.

Taylor 912Ce Builders Edition

Built to the exacting specifications of comfort and tone developed by Andy Powers, this 912ce features back and sides of solid East Indian rosewood paired with a Lutz spruce top. An ideal choice for players who value finesse and a delicate touch, offering wide dynamic range across the tonal spectrum. V-Class bracing is a natural partner with Indian rosewood, helping it’s naturally textured overtones to bloom and resonate with greater sustain, volume and musicality.
